The plaster of paris bandage is made with quick drying cotton gauze strips imbibed with plaster. Once submerged in water, the plaster bandages become quite pliable and can be moulded around various armatures.
The POP bandage is impregnated with plaster of Paris and applied moist to make a rigid dressing for a fracture or a diseased joint. It immobilizes broken bones while they heal.
